About Us

At Gore Hill County Water District, our goal is to provide safe, clean, sparkling water to all of our residents.  The Gore Hill County Water District was created on July 9, 1974. The district services potable water to numerous subdivisions that lie adjacent to one another. These subdivisions are Anderson Tracts, Buchanan Park, Castle Heights, Pretty Prairie Ranchettes, and Western Estates. This covers approximately 500 acres. There are 224 households with a total population of 550. Constructed in 1975, the water system consists of two wells, four 50,000-gallon storage tanks and approximately 6.5 miles of distribution main consisting of 6” and 8” piping. We have two wells between 800 to 900 feet deep into the Madison aquifer. The district is managed by an elected board. Members are elected for a 4-year term. Each year we encourage members of the district to file and run for board.
